Welcome to Lexham Gardens Playhouse: A cosy, homely nursery situated in the heart of London in the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea

Creating a loving family environment where everyone works and plays together in a positive way is paramount to us. We provide a safe and happy environment where children can learn, experience and develop to the fullest, guided by a highly professional team of teachers.

Our previous and current OFSTED reports have always shown us to be Outstanding and Good in different areas. We ensure that we maintain this high standard and provide quality childcare at all times.

Our staff turnover is very low and staff attendance rate is high which means that we don’t need bank staff like other nurseries and due to this, children receive consistency with key teachers and sessions. 

They settle and form attachments very quickly and therefore learning through the EYFS curriculum becomes fun and engaging. Teachers are always challenging the children with activities and prepare them for public school assessments so they are ready to transition to reception or sometimes directly to Year 1. Children from our nursery tend to transition to top schools in the area and do very well in their assessments.

We have been open for just over 20 years and have recently celebrated by being awarded ‘Most Nurturing Childcare Service 2022 – Central London’ and ‘Best Childcare Services 2023 – West London’ by SME London Enterprise Awards. Please feel free to click on the links that are highlighted if you would like further information.

Although we are a term time nursery, we are also open for most of the holidays and during half terms where we run our holiday schemes. These are priced separately and require booking. Your child does not need to attend our nursery in order to join our holiday scheme. All children are welcome. We also offer funded places for children in the afternoons during term time only.
